A better future is possible, together.
From linear to circular
Our journey at Circularc began with a simple yet profound realization: that the traditional linear economy of glass tableware was simply not sustainable in the long run. Extraction of raw materials, production, distribution, use, and then to the landfill… not an ideal situation!
Every year, millions of candle jars and glass drinkware pieces end up in the landfill. Today, typical curbside recycling programs do not accept these types of products. We knew there had to be a way to address this problem! As a company committed to environmental stewardship, and as one of the largest glass tableware producers in the world (Arc), we knew we had a responsibility to do better.
Over the past few years at Arc, we have embarked on a transformative journey to develop a new circular economy initiative for glass that has never been done before. This initiative was not just a business decision, it was a reflection of our core values and our desire to make a positive impact on our world. We recognized the absence of a circular economy at scale for glass tableware, and were determined to pave the way to change that!
The journey to develop this initiative was not without its challenges. It required extensive R&D, repeated evaluations of our process at various stages, and a willingness to think outside the box. Through extensive research, trial and error, we have developed an efficient way to reclaim and recycle glass tableware - everything from used candles, to chipped wine glasses!
Join us on this journey towards a more sustainable future, where together, we can truly make an impact.
Traditional linear economies lead to unnecessary waste.
In the current linear economy of glass tableware, resources are extracted, transformed into glass products, and then eventually sent to landfill after use. This is not a sustainable product lifecycle. We were determined to develop a solution that would divert as many glass tableware products as possible from ending up in landfills.
A circular economy for a more sustainable future.
Glass is infinitely recyclable, but a proper way to recycle glass tableware products did not exist. Although you can recycle glass bottles and jars in some curbside recycling programs, glass tableware products and used candle jars are rarely permitted.
As a passionate team at one of the largest glass tableware manufacturers in the world, we saw the need for a solution to this ongoing problem. This is how Circularc was born.
Through Circularc, we are able to reclaim used candle jars and other glass tableware products that are no longer usable, break them down, and recycle them into new products.
It is a meaningful initiative to our company, our partners, our community, and most importantly, our planet.
